Pennsylvania Woman Left $2.5M Winning Lotto Ticket in Donated Jacket Pocket

If you frequent thrift shops, you may have gotten lucky enough to find some money in some secondhand pant pockets! Granted, it’s usually somewhere between one and ten dollars, but what if you found a lottery ticket worth $2.5 MILLION in Pennsylvania?

Well, because of an accidental donation by 76-year-old Mildred Simoneriluto to Vietnam Veterans of America, that is entirely possible.

Two weeks after Simoneriluto bought her ticket, she realized she had matched all five numbers only to then realize the jacket with the winning ticket in the pocket was donated. Now, as the ticket expires on May 8th, she is in a race against time while the jacket makes it through the charity’s global donation system.
