Pirates Broadcast Crew Speaks Home Run Into Existence, Purposely Jinxing Phillies Pitcher
Jinxes happen in sports all the time, but for the MLB, it most often happens at the hands (or rather, mouths) of the broadcast crews.
Most recently it happened when two of Pennsylvania's MLB teams faced off and the Pittsburgh Pirates' broadcast crew jinxed the pitcher of the Philadelphia Phillies.
As commentators Kevin Young and Greg Brown speculate on what's about to happen, one says, “You almost feel like Andrew McCutchen’s about to do something, he’s dressed like a superhero."
Then turning their attention to the man on the mound, the other says, "We talk about Sanchez, how he never gives up home runs… If I didn’t mention it earlier, I thought we did.”
Moments later, Sanchez pitches it to McCutchen, who rocks out a home run.
