Stolen Sinclar Gas Station Dinosaur Statue Returned With Apology Note From Captors
If you’re lucky enough to have a business with a cool little mascot in your town, you know how important those figures become to people.
That’s why when Claire, the 50-pound, fiberglass dinosaur that sits outside of a Sinclair gas station in Brentwood was stolen, it caught the attention of the community and celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis!
Footage was captured of the dino-napping and all it took was some power tools and a pickup truck to haul her away. Residents brought flowers, balloons and origami dinosaurs to the site until, miraculously, Claire was returned wrapped in a sort of tarp. There was also an apology note attached to her that said “I’m sorry for stealing Claire. Please do not press charges!”
The owner of the gas station says he’s more happy that she is home and will not be pressing charges.
All is well that ends well! What was the local mascot caper in your town?
