Texas Middle School Cheerleaders Suffer Burns After Coach’s ‘Punishment’

Should middle school sports ever be taken THIS seriously?

Thirteen eighth-grade cheerleaders at Evans Middle School in Lubbock, Texas, suffered first and second-degree burns after being punished by their coach for performing a cheer she didn't want them to do.

The girls were forced to do bear crawls and crab walks on a track in extreme heat, with temperatures around 125 degrees, and were not allowed to stop despite telling the coach they were suffering burns on their hands.

Parents are now seeking criminal charges against the coach, alleging her actions were intentional and harmful, and an investigation is ongoing.
