Tyrese Haliburton Shares the Moment He Realized He Wasn’t Playing in the Olympics

Tyrese Haliburton thought he was headed to Olympic stardom. That is, until a pre-tournament team meeting turned into an ego-crushing round of “guess who’s not actually playing!”

As Haliburton recalls, Coach Steve Kerr and LeBron James were talking about how not everyone will get actual time on the court but they’re all still all-start players at the end of the day. You know, feel-good things you say before you reveal who definitely won’t be playing. Haliburton looked around the room and had a good old-fashioned “oh, they’re talking about me” moments.

However, when the team medaled, so did he! As he shared on Twitter following the games, he was basically the guy who did nothing but show up for the group project but still got an “A”.
