Would You Live in the World’s Largest 3D-Printed Neighborhood?
Whether you're a tech nerd or are simply looking for a home in Texas, the world's largest 3D-printed neighborhood is near completion.
About 30 miles outside of Austin, there is a community of 100 of these homes printed by ICON, made of a mix of concrete powder, water, sand and other additives that are mixed and pumped into the gigantic printer and built up layer by layer along the programmed path.
Each home is a single story with either three or four bedrooms that takes about three weeks to finish printing, while the foundation and metal roofs are installed the old-fashioned way.
