Green Day Performs as ‘The Coverups’ Between Coachella Weekends
As Coachella wrapped up its second weekend with Green Day as the headliner for both weekends, we are finding out how the band was able to pass the time between their two sets.
Turns out, they ended up playing a show as a cover band with a different name at a small club in Pioneertown, California. Performing as “The Coverups” Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, touring guitarist Jason White, audio engineer Chris Dugan, and Bill Schneider on bass, they played 31 cover songs at Pappy and Harriet’s.
From “Summer of ’69” to “Whole Lotta Love” and more, Green Day may find even more continued success with this other venture.
