Hi Idiots.

We're speaking directly to the Fancy Idiots out there, or those who made personal donations to our charity, Idiots for Underdogs. This 401c charity is fully supported by those of you who pay each month for the webcams, Segment 17, and more. We would not be able to make as big a difference in people's lives as we have without all of you.

It's been a big year for our charity, so let's get right into the incredible things we were able to do thanks to your kind donations.

 Alice Needs A Hearing Aid

We started the year with a unique donation. Patti told us about her friend Alice, an older resident in the apartment complex she manages, whose hearing loss has made daily life difficult, including missing Meals on Wheels deliveries she relies on. While neighbors have been helping her get by, the situation caught the attention of Idiots for Underdogs.

Patti was surprised on the show to learn that Idiots for Underdogs will cover the $4,500 cost of a new hearing aid. A few months after the donation, we received an update that Alice's life had improved and that she was socializing again.

Dakota Has A Baby On The Way And Needs A Roof

Shelli reached out to Idiots for Underdogs about her son Dakota, a U.S. Army veteran who is expecting his first child while facing job loss and a badly leaking roof at home. With a baby on the way and mounting stress, Idiots for Underdogs stepped in to help. Dakota and Shelli were surprised on the show with a $10,000 check, and Victor's Home Solutions is replacing their roof at no cost.

Kids Food Basket

Of course, our biggest charitable act of the year came in the form of our 12-hour radiothon for Kids Food Basket that saw us raise $163,000 for kids who don't have access to a steady food source. We made a donation of $20,000 our own under the Idiots of Underdogs name.

Dede and Kayden Need A Helping Hand

Stacey, a school employee, reached out to Idiots for Underdogs after learning about Dede and her son Kayden, who have been facing serious hardships. Kayden switched schools due to bullying, then suffered a medical emergency that required surgery and kept him out of school, forcing Dede to miss work and ultimately lose her job.

As a result, Idiots for Underdogs stepped in and sent a $5,000 check to help support Dede and Kayden during this difficult time.

Free Beer and Hot Wings Idiots for Underdogs Charity Kickball Tournament

On August 17 and 18, the first-ever Idiots4Underdogs Charity Softball & Kickball Tournament took place and it was an absolute hoot. The turnout was great, everyone was good sports, and we raised $4000 for Idiots for Underdogs. All photos were taken by Dawn Elliot.
